One of our most illustrious past pupils, ROW Man of the Year 1983, Shay (or Ogie, as we knew him) passed away on April 10th. Shay suffered with Parkinson’s disease for about 17 years but managed to work in the entertainment business almost to the end.
Shay had an outstanding career in music and television. This has been widely reported since Shay passed away. The RTE website contains a great tribute containing many videos and photographs. The PPU extends sincere sympathy to Shay’s wife Dympna, his sons and wider family. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.
