ANNUAL DINNER AND 150TH. ANNIVERSARY PUBLICATION

The following group email was issued by the PPU on January 7th. –
Our annual Dinner is approaching fast and will take place at the Westbury Hotel on Saturday January 30th at pm for 7.30pm.
we had a great turn out last year and, with your support, we hope to have another enjoyable event this year.
At the dinner, we plan to launch our 150th. Anniversary Publication called Cuimhneacan 1864 – 2014. Huge effort, by a number of committee members has gone into creating what, we regard, as a very significant record and one which will stand the test of time. Cuimhneacan 1864 – 2014 runs to over 230 pages packed with photographs as well as information on a wide variety of events, historical, sporting, personalities etc. connected with the school over its long history. There is also an important section on the Revolutionary Years covering 1916, the Great War and the War of Independence. This is of special significance in this Centenary year given the huge number of past pupils, including the Pearse Brothers who participated in the events. A wider summary of Cuimhneacan 1864 – 2014 is attached to whet your appetite. We are confident that the publication will generate considerable interest and will be very much in demand.
The Dinner ticket price is being held at €60
Cuimhneacan 1864 – 2016 is priced at €20
However, a special price of €70 has been set to cover both the dinner and Publication, payable at the door on the night (credit/debit card facility will be available). additional copies will be available on the for €10 per copy.
Please try to come along and, if possible, encourage some of your “old classmates” to make up a table.
We will need to give the Westbury numbers so please act as soon as possible and contact Jim Conway on 087 2557298 or jim.conway7@gmail.com or Michael O’Sullivan on 086 2591790 or mosullivan@bewleys.com.
Best regards, Jim Conway (Hon. Sec.) and Michael O’Sullivan (Treasurer)
PS to the above – Please bring along or donate a prize for the raffle (on which we depend for finance). Any unwanted Christmas presents or a bottle etc. would be most welcome. If you can’t make it on the night you could leave a prize at the Westbury any time now. Just mark Westland Row 30.1.2016 on it. Many Thanks.
